A Double Honour at the Scottish Whisky Awards

A Double Honour at the Scottish Whisky Awards

We’re delighted to share that Saltire Rare Malt has taken home two prestigious accolades at the 2025 Scottish Whisky Awards: Best Newcomer and Best Single Malt Over 13 Years for our Craigellachie 17-Year-Old.

To receive this level of recognition in our debut year is a humbling moment for the entire Saltire team. These awards reflect not just the quality of the spirit we bottle, but the care, patience, and philosophy behind every release.

Saltire Rare Malt was founded in Fife by long-time friends (and longer-time whisky enthusiasts) Keith Rennie and Nigel Heywood. After three decades of collecting and curating casks, we launched our first releases in 2024 — timed to mark 530 years since the first official record of Scotch whisky, right here in Falkland, across from the palace that inspired our journey.

That journey has always been guided by a simple principle: A Measure of Time & Taste. We bottle only when the moment is right. No rush. No shortcuts. Just remarkable single malts, chosen for character and ready to be shared.

The award for our Craigellachie 17-Year-Old is especially meaningful. It was one of the early pillars of our collection — a rich, complex dram that speaks to the heart of what we do. We’re proud it resonated with the judges as much as it has with our growing community of collectors and enthusiasts.

This is just the beginning. With each cask we unveil, we’ll continue to honour the spirit, the provenance, and the stories worth telling — from the heart of Fife to whisky shelves across the world.
