Not every whisky earns the title of Cigar Malt. For us, it describes a dram with the depth, robustness and complexity to hold your attention long into the evening.
Our latest release is exactly that kind of whisky. A dram that rewards patience and reveals something new with every return to the glass.
Whether paired with a favourite cigar, dark chocolate or simply enjoyed by the fire, this Cigar Malt Edition 2 is a whisky worth taking your time with.

Deep fruity aromas: orange marmalade, cherry pipe tobacco, stewed red apples with a pinch of ground cloves. Then some notes of warm armchair leather and honeycomb. Very complex nose, so don’t start your cigar yet!
The taste delivers what the nose already suggested, with a medium body and a
lingering finish. Well balanced. Take a sip and light up!

A little piece of
historyThis coastal
distillery was built in 1871 by Alexander Wilson & Co. It was kept in the
family until the company went bankrupt in 1936. Remarkably, the Buckie Town
Council decided to buy the distillery and family home for the neat sum of
1,600 GBP. It must not have felt right that a government body finds itself
suddenly in the liquor business, so in 1938 Inchgower was sold to Arthur Bell
& Sons for 3,000 GBP, the community of Buckie making a considerable profit
of 1,400 GBP in only two years (in today’s money that would be around 122,000
GBP).That might have helped
the decision to sell too!In 1985 Guinness took
over and via a merger with DCL, eventually Bell’s would become part of Diageo’s
portfolio. Inchgower still is the heart of Bell’s blended Scotch. The distillery is only
a 15 minute car drive from the beautiful old harbour at Portsoy, dating from
1692.Water source
