    • In 1966 this large Speyside distillery was built by a consortium named Tamnavulin-Glenlivet Distillery Company, part of Invergordon Distillers Ltd. In 1993 Whyte & Mackay purchased the latter and decided two years later to mothball Tamnavulin. It would take 12 years and a couple of takeovers before the distillery went full steam ahead. Since 2014 Whyte & Mackay is owned by Emperador Inc. Until fairly recently Tamnavulin was mainly a backbone component for Whyte & Mackay’s blended Scotch, but is presently available as a fine single malt.

      Water source: Various local springs

      Malt source: Commercial maltsters

Capacity: 4 million litres of alcohol per annum

      Location: Tomnavoulin, Speyside
