A beautiful nose. This is what you want from a Linkwood, nice sweet and fruity, think strawberry candies as a top note. Then cigar boxes and sugar-coated oranges with cotton candy. The ruby port wine vintage barrique added extra layers of fruit upon fruit. Finished in a bourbon buff for completeness.

A distillery on the outskirts of Elgin, capital of Morayshire. The original buildings were erected in 1821 by Peter Brown. In 1872 however his son and heir William demolishes the distillery to build an entirely new one. In 1971 the two existing stills are joined by four new ones, that are factually a new distillery and internally named Linkwood B, whereas the older one is known thereafter as Linkwood A. In 1985 A closes but will produce irregularly between 1990 and 1996 again, after which period it falls silent definitively. B is now just Linkwood and has been producing a fine and elegant single malt with 3 pairs of stills ever since. Its product is much enjoyed by connoisseurs and blenders alike.
